You get tons more space to record on the memory card. My unit came with a 32 GB kingston micro SD card. I separately purchased two 64 gb SanDisk memory cards and the 64 gb cards could not be read by this unit. I also have a 32 gb SanDisk memory card handy and tried that and it couldn't be recognized by the camera either. I went and bought a kingston 64 gb card to try and it works perfectly. If you by this camera, just be sure to buy Kingston memory cards. Haven't tested any other brand cards. Those are my only cons about this camera.
I had purchased 2 other action cams in this price range, and returned them both as they di not perform up to expectations. The soocoo c30 has exceeded expectations. The video and audio quality recorded are very nice. Colors are just a touch on the vibrant side, but not overly so. the remote is a nice option to have. Some of it's nicest features for this class are the gyro anti-shake - videos are nice and steady as it works great, the time lapse video function, the diving mode setting - no need for red filter, and being able to have different angles of view - you are not stuck with the fisheye 170 degrees. It can zoom with the up/down buttons, but being digital zooming, you do start to get more noise in the video the more you zoom.
During our snowboard trip we tried them and each battery lasted for 50minutes continuous recording at 1080p, wifi off but gyro on since we need for the moving video. As I've said the video quality is very good. With the new batteries and the price, this camera serves our purpose instead of spending $400 on a gopro. We sometimes use them as dash cam and figured out to just use the bike stand attachment instead of the waterproof case (which comes with the camera purchase) so our video will not be upside down anymore.
After battery replacement ( 1050mAh to a 1300mAh battery). The new batterries performed as expected. At 1080p 60fps antishake, gyro and wdr on, (wifi off), no loop recording, it can last up to 78min - 85min.... and on 4k 24fps, it last like 50 to 65 mins.....what is wierd is when you turn on loop recording... on 1080p 60fps.. it only records several cut
Soocoo action cam is good. The gyro stabilization really works and we really like that feature. Downside is the battery life which barely last 30mins. Bought this for snowboarding videos but I don't know if they would even last 10mins in cold weather.
The device takes a very nice video on 1080p 60fps... kind of grainy on the 4k and little better on the 2k, but still very good video output due to its anti shake and gyro when compared to other BUDGET action cameras in the market. Also the camera does not really have a 170 wide angle, more like 150 but as a plus on its side that you can change the camera's angle if you don't want the fisheye effect. There is also no selection of rotating the camera's view (no upside down) like others, so if you want to use it as a Dash Cam better use the bracket mount that it comes with it.
I'm giving this 5 stars because I'm rating the camera since that's what I bought. However, the software (zsanycam) to connect to the camera is a bit unstable. When camera is set to 4k, the app crashes constantly. When camera is set to less than 4k resolution, the app works well and is stable. Just something to think about if you plan to shoot in 4k and use the app with a cell phone.
Here are the Pro's:
Well constructed camera (not talking about the waterproof case yet )
No cheap plastic feel.
Does every function described.
Boots up very quickly. keep in mind, those reviews I've read could've had a 90% filled memory card which could delay boot up. I filled my 64 gb card to 40 gb and boot up was still same @ 1 sec. Major plus.
Waterproof case is well constructed and sealed extremely tight. Overall, excellent buy!
After a week of playing around with this camera, I love the video quality and the image stabilizer works great. The remote has proven to be handy. The battery life also leaves sooo much to be desired (depending on your video quality of choice).Overall I'd say it's a decent starter camera. If you lose it being clumsy, it's not the worst to replace.
You can always transfer images and video directly from the Camera to a pc with a cable or a memory card reader. The app is the issue, not the camera. Tried on both iphone 6 plus and Samsung galaxy S6. Same results (app crashing while using in 4k resolution). Camera image quality is superb. All functions tested and amazing. I don't have a 4k tv so using in HD 1080p is perfect for my use.
