I have tried other smart watches with mixed feelings. There are a ton of options out there and deciding on which to buy can be daunting to say the least. First off, smart watches have a long ways to go. The main hurdle is the operating systems which they will be used under. It seems that every new release of Android presents more challenges. With that said, here's my final assessment on this watch.
Features versus cost: This watch wins hands down!!!!! You can make and answer calls via the watch. Yes, you read that correctly, and without using a SIM card. It has a camera, though a low MP, it is functional (when you insert a MSD card) you can take pictures and also record video. Also, you can be notified of anything your phone notifies you of. You may want to deselect some notifications as this can get on your nerves quickly.
Pairing your watch to your phone is easy; making the BT-Notifications work is not. I read other reviews and followed their suggestions and they worked. First, charge your watch via the USB cable that comes with it. Then, power it up and then go to your BT settings and pair the watch with your phone. Once paired, answer Yes to the "sync now": that the watch asks. Then, go to the watch menu and keep scrolling until you see the "quick response" button. Click on it and a QR code will come up. Use your phone to read it and it will take you to a website that you can download the app for your phone. Once this is done, you will open it and find that it will NOT see your watch. Don't despair. Turn off the watch and start it back up; this may require doing more than once (why I don't know), and if after three times your watch doesn't find your phone for BT notifications, then take the back off of the watch, remove the battery for say 30 seconds and the replace it. Then power the watch up and it should not only connect to your watch but also connect to the BT Notification app, which is what this watch needs to make it a "smart watch".
Drawbacks to this watch; It can't get more than ten feet from the phone before it disconnects. So, keep the phone on your side while wearing the watch. Perhaps this is just my setup only, I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android 5.0; Verizon's version.
Yes, you get what you pay for and in my humble opine, this watch is well worth what you paid for it.
Would I recommend this to a friend? Yes, and I have already done so.
It's a very nice watch I thought it came with the heart monitor but I guess it didn't call are a little low for me but other then that I like it it doesn't come with the sum card you have to buy it separate
So far it was easy to setup. Performs better than expensive ones. Only difference is there don't really do apps...but in all honestly the average Joe is really using this just to see who is texting maybe tge occasional email You can even reply to texrs but it is for just the occasional one where u don't want to pull your phone out as it is A small keyboard. But great for price.
it is can receive text messages and you can talk and the other person can hear you clear i was in the same room listening to my self and also the phone in easy to connect to your phone i was done in 10 minutes.
For the price I would gladly take this over a apple or Samsung any day, does the same exact thing, oh plus it has its own camera (for those secretive pics) and it controls the camera on my phone! awesome price and product!
This watch doesn't do "talk-to-text", but it is worth every penny. It has a good sound for Bluetooth, pedometer and sleep monitor is good. This watch is great at notifying about things coming to my phone.
Way better than the black one that was ordered for me from a coworker the color is so nice. I got about 2 days ago...very easy to set up. Use Bluetooth and u r all set. Why spend hundreds of dollars on those high priced watch phones....u can get them in 4 colors for every day of the week and still pay less than those other phones!
I have been using this watch for around one week. So far it is wonderful.
the watch worked like a champ. I was worried about battery power, and it seems to last me around 1 1/2 days. I don't mind taking it off to charge, usually at the computer I take my watch off anyway. So, that is when I charge it.
I was concerned when I purchased this about the ability to work with my phone. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 (around 4 years old now) that keeps going strong. It has Android 2.1.4, which is below the watch's v2.2 requirement. I had to find the BT Notification in the Google Play store. It installed without fault. I paired up the watch with the Galaxy S3 easily. Then I synced the phone using the BT Notification app.
I have used the bluetooth to make phone calls, thought it's hard to hear when driving. I have hearing problems so I'll still use my earpiece in the car. But at home, I can sit comfortably and chat hands free without having to reach for my phone.
I'm not too concerned about all the option, after all it was replacing a watch. I don't plan to replace my S3 with this, but it is nice to receive my text messages, FB notification, and IM's without reaching for my phone. I love the added alarm clock, always getting up at 4:00am. When synced, my alarms from my phone go off on my watch as well. Wow! It's like listening to my alarms in Stereo!!!! haha I don't sleep through them for sure.
I wear extra large gloves, so I have some big hands and wrist. The band sits on my arm using the second notch in the band, it fits comfortably. The larger look is fine for me, I was used to a Timex Triathlon extra large face. This is only a little bigger, and I don't notice a difference. Since I work in a restaurant, I wash my hands A LOT... like every 5 minutes. I do worry about how waterproof it is, I believe that if this lasts me one year, I'll be pretty happy.
This is not a full and complete review. I don't expect to use every option in this smart watch. I only wanted something to tell time. I would have like to see a countdown timer or a chronograph for use when working out. I guess my S3 will suffice for that. Great job and nice watch! I'm happy. I may try to update the review while I own it.
