First, this camera only works with 2.4 GHz. My home router runs both 5 GHz & 2.4 Ghz so no worries for me. Setup was as easy as downloading the YI Home app on my phone and plugging the camera into a power source. It walks you through the rest and I had no trouble at all. Was up in less than 5 minutes.I have my camera setup to look out my front window into my driveway. This allows me to see everything in front of my house as well as the front door. I have the motion detection sensitivity set to low and it picks up any movement it sees and sends me a 6 second clip. This is where the learning came into play. At first I thought it only stored a 6 second clip. This would be pointless in the event something happened. However, after playing with the app I found that the 6 second clips only act as an alert. You then go into the app press the live camera feed and can scroll back to whatever time you'd like. The camera records continuously as long as there's movement detected. One of the cool features is the ability to access the camera away from home. I can see the live feed wherever I'm at. Another neat feature is the ability to have two way communications from anywhere as well. When I see me kids have come home from school I open the app, press the phone icon and talk away with them. You can also spy on them (should you chose to do so) without their knowledge. A little big brotherish but neat nonetheless. The camera has run flawlessly, not one hiccup. I will say the app could use some tweaking. Scrolling back to find something from previous days takes forever because you literally need to swipe and swipe and swipe to get there. Seems to be an easy fix if they chose to do so.Overall, for $40 this camera is incredible. I don't rate many products but I felt compelled to rate this one.
